- The problem i m facing about english is that i do not understand many vocabulary well .Thus,my english exams last few years had not been doing well although i had tuition.Perhaps,i do not know the proper way to study my english .There are many difficult areas i m facing such as proper noun, tenses and adjectives.I had made many mistakes for writing my composition or letter writing.
- Regarding about the strategy i used to study for my english,i found that reading more english newspapers or watching more television news would expand my knowledge on my vocabulary and speaking good english. On the other hand, having a english guidebook would help me to build up my english standard. However,i do not find reading books help me as i had no time to find intersting books.
- This year,i had learnt different ways of english skills to relate them in my exams.Having all the intersting phrases resorces for composition thrills me to learn them.Beside this,my teacher had given me advices on how to answer comperhension questions and i know how to write proposal to the principal .
- I am not happy with my progress as i had not build up my english vocabulary well yet.I did not had much practice on my comprehensions and reading skills for essay writing.i hope to do well for my O level english if i work hard for it~!!=)

I am glad you are putting in effort to answer these questions.
ReplyDeleteGood English proficiency does not guarantee good English examination grades. You need good exam skills to get good grades.
Firstly, you do not need excellent vocabulary. It is almost impossible to know every single word in your comprehension passage so do not get too upset if you do not know some of the words.
In comprehension, we need to know where to look for the answer.
Secondly, to write well, you need the basic vocabulary and some specially learned words to impress the examiner. If you can write short paragraphs correctly, you will be able to write the whole essay well. So let's start with short paragraphs.
Your posting here shows that you are inconsistent with your tenses and your punctuation is incorrect. Read through again and see if you can spot your own errors.
I agree about the advices you had given me.i will try my best to improve my tenses and punctuation.I will work hard for my englsih exams.
ReplyDeleteWell phoebe...You definetly can make it to the best.^^
ReplyDeleteYour parent are English educated so there's no worries so much on your English as you always speak English with your parent so it should be alrgiht. But you had to find out your mistake. And try to improve it^^
Hi, Phoebe ^^
ReplyDeleteThanks for your advice!
You too, must do well for your English 'O' Level.
I know you surely will do it as you had been always interacting with others in English.
Keep working hard. Jia You!! (:
I agree with Mrs Choong as it is almost impossible to know every single word in the comprehension passage. Nevertheless, during exam, you should try to figure out the meaning of the word with the sentences given in the passage.
ReplyDeleteFrom what you have written above I can tell that you too are having some problems with your grammar.Try to improve your grammar as it will help you perfect your sentences.
All the best for your coming exam!
